2026 Regulations

1.- Date and Location.

Avandarocks Hard Enduro will take place in the municipalities of Temascaltepec and Zacazonapan, State of Mexico, on Friday, November 13; Saturday, November 14; and Sunday, November 15, 2026. The first day begins with the Prologue, followed by two days of Hard Enduro competition.

2.- Registration.

2.1 Registration for Avandarocks Hard Enduro 2026 will close once the limited capacity of 150 riders has been reached.

All registration applications must be downloaded from the event website: www.avandarocks.com. Once the registration form has been correctly completed, it must be sent to avandarocks@gmail.com.

2.2 The organization reserves the right to accept or refuse rider registrations. If the rider is a minor, please contact the organization in advance.

2.3 Backpack assistants (“mochileros”) are not permitted during the competition. If a rider wishes to compete accompanied by another person, both must be registered as competitors. Riders who are not registered in the competition will not be allowed onto the course.

3.- Check-in.

Check-in will be open the day before the Prologue (Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.). All riders must report to BETA Avándaro Motorsport to complete check-in. NO exceptions will be made. Riders arriving after check-in closes will NOT be allowed to participate in the event.

Riders must bring:

Identification (IFE, driver’s license, etc.).
A copy of the summary/coverage page of their medical insurance policy.
Signed liability waiver.
GPS with fully charged batteries. (The GPS will be returned on Friday at the riders’ briefing with the Day 2 routes loaded.) *Use of a GPS is mandatory.
MXN $500 security deposit. (See Article 11.)

Riders will receive:

1 wristband for participation in the race (to be kept until the awards party).
3 stickers displaying the rider’s competition number, to be placed on the three number plates.
1 event jersey (if registration was paid during September 2026).
Transportation of fuel to the different fuel points.
Water and energy bars at hydration and fuel points.

4.- Classes.

There will be 5 classes:

Gold (01-99)
Silver (101-199)
Bronze (201-299)
Iron (301-399)
Adventure (401-499)

This last class is new. Riders will not be timed and the competition will not be scored in any way. It is designed for riders who want to experience Avandarocks on a more touring-oriented route, without the pressure of racing.

5.- Results.

The Prologue determines the starting order for the first mountain day. Riders must qualify to enter the final (only the top 14 riders in each class). Riders who qualify but do not participate in the final will be DISQUALIFIED. Riders who do not participate in the Prologue will start the first mountain day in last position (according to registration order) and will receive a 90-minute penalty.

1st place: 0 seconds
2nd place: +30 seconds
3rd place: +60 seconds
4th place: +90 seconds
5th place: +120 seconds
6th place and below: +180 seconds.

The final race result will be the sum of the three times (Prologue + Day 2 + Day 3). The rider with the lowest total time is the winner. Day 2 results determine the starting order for Day 3.

6.- Protests

Protests must be submitted in writing within 1 hour after the end of the competition on the same day. They will be reviewed during the afternoon and, if accepted, a decision will be issued before the start of the following competition or the awards ceremony. Once the official results have been announced, no further protests will be accepted. The organization therefore reserves the right to publish official results only after sufficient time has been allowed to review all race details and/or written protests.

7.- Prologue

The Prologue starting order is based on registration order. The Prologue will determine the starting order for the first mountain day.

All riders are entitled to two qualifying laps. The top 14 riders in each class will advance to the finals.

Riders who do not participate in the Prologue will start the first mountain day in last position (according to registration order) and will receive a 90-minute penalty.

8.- Penalties and Disqualifications

8.1 If a review of a rider’s GPS track, or a report from an official, confirms that the rider missed a Check Point, the rider will be disqualified.

8.2 A rider who deviates more than 50 meters from the established route must re-enter the course at the same point where they left it. Otherwise, the rider will be disqualified and/or penalized 1 minute for every 100 meters of deviation.

This will be at the discretion of the race officials.

8.3 All controlled-speed zones (speed limits) must be ridden at less than 40 km/h. Exceeding the limit will result in a penalty of 1 minute for each km/h over the limit.

8.4 The following actions are also prohibited. If any of them are confirmed, the rider will be immediately disqualified:

Receiving assistance during the Prologue from anyone who is not part of the organization or another registered rider.
Changing motorcycles once the race has started.
Violent or inappropriate conduct or riding toward officials, any member of the organization, or the public will result in immediate disqualification and the rider will not be allowed to continue in the competition.
Riding in the opposite direction.
Failing to submit the GPS or a GPX route.

9.- GPS

9.1 It is mandatory for every rider to present and carry a GPS at all times.

9.2 A rider who does not present their GPS at check-in will not be allowed to start the competition.

9.3 We recommend Garmin eTrex 10, 22 or 32 models for competition. IMPORTANT: riders using another GPS brand or model must bring the appropriate cable for data transfer.

9.4 Riders who fail to provide their GPX track will be disqualified without exception. We recommend backing up the route using Strava, Wikiloc, or another tracking application capable of exporting a GPX file, in case the GPS track is lost or the device malfunctions, so the rider can still be scored.

10.- Mandatory Equipment.

At check-in and at various points during the event, the organization will verify that ALL riders have the following MANDATORY equipment:

Registration wristband.
Official stickers and competition numbers properly attached to the motorcycle throughout the event. Make sure your number remains legible during the event.
GPS with battery charged to 100%, plus spare AA batteries.
Mobile phone with a fully charged battery and sufficient credit/service (riders will be asked to demonstrate this by making a call).
Rain jacket (it does not have to be worn, but it must be carried in a backpack or waist pack).
Basic tools (pliers, adhesive tape, zip ties).
A 4-meter rope.
Emergency thermal blanket.
Small headlamp or handheld flashlight.
Helmet in optimal condition with blood-type identification.
Proper enduro boots.
Knife and lighter.
Hydration backpack.

Random equipment inspections will be carried out at the starting areas. If any mandatory item is missing, the rider will not be allowed to start until all required equipment is complete.

OPTIONAL AND RECOMMENDED

Basic medical kit (anti-inflammatory medication, pain medication, gauze, hydrogen peroxide/alcohol, bandage).
Easy-to-replace parts that are commonly damaged: brake and clutch levers, gear shifter, rear brake pedal, master link, spark plug and fuses.
Energy bars.

11.- Security Deposit

At check-in at BETA Avándaro Motorsport, each rider must leave a cash security deposit of MXN $500.00 (five hundred Mexican pesos) with the event organization. The deposit will be returned to each rider at the end of the race. The purpose of this deposit is to ensure that all riders report their arrival at the finish on Saturday and Sunday, the mountain riding days.

If a rider withdraws from the race for any reason, they are required to report their arrival at BETA Avándaro Motorsport. This prevents the organization from coordinating unnecessary search efforts for riders believed to be missing. Any rider who fails to report their arrival at the finish will forfeit 100% of the security deposit to cover expenses generated by the time and effort spent searching for that rider.

12.- Miscellaneous

Ambulances will be available for emergencies, and all race officials will have mobile-phone communication. A special motorcycle team will be present within the competition to assist riders in emergency situations. Riders must understand that many locations are difficult to access and rescues can therefore be time-consuming and complicated. The rider will always be the priority during a rescue, not the motorcycle; recovery of the motorcycle is ultimately the rider’s responsibility.

In addition, all riders are required to assist in the event of an accident when assistance to the injured rider is considered essential. The organization will compensate for time spent assisting an injured rider.
